It's funny that an anonymous poster commented about playing outdoor shows in Tucson. I too played an outdoor show in Tucson...one time. We threw together a band for a one-off outdoor birthday party show. We called ourselves 'Emergency Birth'. The best part was covering 'So What' and the horrible (and totally drunk) singer shouting out words like CUNT really loud in this guy's backyard. Our host was none too happy about that one. I actually have video of it, and I watch it every now and then for a great laugh.

You remind me of a beloved Denver band from '88 or so, "Sloter" (yeah, that's supposed to be pronounced "slaughter," and it probably irked these guys that some hair band snagged the correct spelling first). They were kinda proto-death - the singer growled, anyway, including between songs. So, forever stamped into my memory is one such growled intro: "This next song's called... Sweaty Nipples!"

When I lived in Miami, punk bands used to rent generators, and play out in the middle of the everglades. Went to one of those shows, it was great fun actually. There were aligators around...but who cares, that made it feel more like a Danzig video.
