Good lord, I remember a time when Hatebreed would be booked to play a little coffee shop in my town like every two months. Half of the time, they wouldn't show up...but still. Times have changed.

this dissing on hatebreed is BULLSHIT!! they are a band that speaks to its fans about perseverance and never giving up. you know how many kids have gotten inspired their lyrics? i bet its thousands. jamey jasta does so much for metal and heavy music in general and you diss him? what have YOU done for metal? im guessing nothing. their music is brutal and memorable and full of hope and inspiration. if hatebreed were in your face you wouldnt say they sucked because they would beat you down like in a beat down in any of their songs.

Hatebreed is probably the worst thing to happen to metal since hardcore dancing became integrated into metal.
Since when is Hatebreed Popular? Since when are they metal?
I remember when I saw them open for a bunch of Ska bands at the local Knights Of Columbus Hall in 199(6? 7?). As usual, I was the only person right up front in front of the band. I remember being not very impressed by their tough-guy style pseudo-NY hardcore, but I did get a few good headbangs out of 'em. I remember that they seemed like they were pissed about playing the show for a bunch of teenagers and without a stage, and that they left a very poor, very non-DIY impression on me. But for some reason I always remembered their name. Maybe because they had it written on their Bass drum? Also because I thought it was stupid and that they were probably racists. Maybe I'll watch their video on TV to see if they're any good....
